As you may already know, I’m a big fan of homemade beauty products. I’m not one of those “naturalistas” who possess 156 bottles of essential oils, emulsifiers or pH regulators. I prefer to keep things simple and use ingredients that everyone can find in the kitchen. Obviously, these beauty products don’t last very long, but you can be assured they are 100% natural (if you use organic ingredients, of course) and really efficient.
Today, I’m sharing three easy recipes to help you make your own homemade face masks. Each has different virtues, and the result is amazing, much better than all the “already made” masks I tried in the past. Not to mention the price…
Mask for dull and dry skins
A fresh egg yolk + 1 tbsp of olive oil + 1 tbsp of honey
At least 20 min
The egg yolk is going to nourish and brighten the face. The olive oil is going to nourish the skin, while the honey will moisturise it and keep it soft.
Mask for oily skins
one egg white + 1 tbsp of honey + 1 tbsp of lemon juice
If you have a very oily skin, you can add a tbsp of flour, which will act as a sponge on your skin. The egg white is going to clear your face, tighten your pores and “lift” your skin. The honey will keep your skin soft and prevent any dryness. The lemon juice is supposed to brighten a dull complexion.
Mask for tired faces
ground oat flakes + 3 tbsp of milk
The oat flakes are going to soothe the skin, moisturise it and avoid irritations. They are full of vitamin E, which protects the skin cells. The milk is going to help you keep your face soft.
