Eating in front of the TV, all right, but eating healthy is better ! To relax after a long day, Gleb and I love to watch an episode of our favourite series – currently, The Blacklist or House of Cards – with a delicious TV dinner. I’m sharing pictures of one of our nights, with tips to make really simple and healthy little snacks.

The pop corn is a classic for a TV or movie night ! Salty or sweet, it doesn’t have a lot of calories – that’s only corn, after all – but gives us the pleasant feeling of eating candies. Not to mention it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare…
For a good pop corn : heat up a big sauce pan (if you have the lid) or a stewpot on high heat during one minute. If the bottom of your pot isn’t anti adhesive, add a tbsp of your favourite oil. Pour the corn and cover immediately while leaving on high heat. Shake the pot very regularly above the flame to keep your corn from burning. Once all the “pops” have stopped, you can switch the fire off.
If you want to add caramel to your pop corn, sprinkle the corn with sugar while stiring constantly with a wooden spoon. Be careful, this is a delicate step, the sugar will burn on the bottom really quickly and ruin your pop corn if the pot is too hot or if you don’t stir enough.

A bit of cheese is always good for your mood ! As far as I’m concerned, at least…
Prepare a pretty cheese plate with your favourite selection, a little bit of bread, or as I did this kind of crackers that you can find everywhere in Malta. Add olives, dried tomatoes, walnuts, figs, or whatever you like.

I love crudités sticks dipped into sauce ! This is not my case, but if you don’t like vegetables, this can be a good way to eat more of them.
To make my sauce, I mix greek yoghourt with lemon juice, a tiny bit of balsamic vinegar and fresh chopped basil. Delicious !

After all this, we are tempted to enjoy a can of coke… which would be a big mistake. But I must admit that water is not exactly funny… To have the impression of drinking a more sophisticated drink, I pour myself a big glass of sparkling water embellished with ice cubes and a couple of lemon slices. That’s really good for you ! You can even add berries, fresh mint, cucumber slices or basil for more flavours, but personally, I like it that way.

You get a TV dinner that’s good for your soul and your taste buds, that’s quick and easy to prepare, and mainly, that is balanced and healthy.
