You’re beginning to know me : I don’t consume a lot of cosmetics. There are rarely more than three different products in my beauty routine. I try, whenever it’s possible, to favour natural skincare for my daily use. Recently, I’ve been asked to test Bodhi cosmetics, a brand I didn’t know about yet. I readily agreed, seduced by the very clean product composition and the promise of an olfactory journey to Thailand, for the span of a shower.
Antioxidant green tea shower gel – Bodhi
I don’t know about you, but usually I don’t expect much of a shower gel, as long as it smells good and foams enough. These two criteria are fully satisfied with this product. Its scent is one of the best I have ever smelt in a cosmetic product. I am not exaggerating. It’s a fresh and natural fragrance, almost fruity (I think I smell some citrus notes), which transports you to the other side of the planet in the blink of an eye. And the icing on the cake : the smell remains on the skin for quite a long time after the shower. A real delight. Even my boyfriend fell in love with it…
Regarding the composition, as I mentionned previously, it’s more than correct. This product doesn’t claim to be organic, but you won’t find dangerous chemical junk in it. The ingredients are of natural origin (derived from coconut oil or essential oils, as well as green tea or roots extracts…). Parabens, propylene glycol, SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) or artificial coloring are absent from the composition.
Ona different note, I would like to thank Bodhi’s packaging team… THANK YOU for conditioning this shower gel into a pump bottle ! Honestly, it’s so much more convenient! Done with the ice cold water flowing on you when you open the bottle cap (I know ithappens to you, too). Done with the slippery bottle that will eventually end up exploded on the bathtub floor because it slipped through your fingers. Long live the pump bottle ! Surely, it’s a detail. But an important one ! According to me, this is through this kind of things that you can tell a product apart from another and judge its quality.
Body scrub with Himalayan salt – Bodhi
As you may know, I usually make my own scrubs at home, using natural ingredients. But this type of product doesn’t keep long – especially in the summer – and I don’t always have the time and/or the ingredients to prepare it.
That’s why I love this Bodhi scrub so much : it contains only natural products, as if you just made it yourself ! Shea butter, rice bran oil, sunflower or sesame oil, essential oil of lavender and lemongrass or even vitamin E : these are the ingredients you will find in this exfoliating skincare. It’s a delight to use, as it feels like you’re exfoliating your skin with a homemade product.
And how can I talk about this body scrub without mentioning the fragrance ? The smell is very different from the green tea shower gel, but equally exquisite. Lavender notes come first, followed by lemongrass scent. I could almost eat it ! In the summer, it’s a pleasure to use a product with such an authentic and exotic fragrance. Let me tell you that I’ve been using this scrub very sparingly to make it last as long as possible…
Regarding its exfoliating action, I find it perfect for me : I love “efficient” scrubs, with a lot of grains. It’s essential to keep a bright tan in the summer and to prevent ingrown hairs. However, I would not recommend this product if you have very sensitive skin, it would probably be too abrasive for you. And of course, do not use this on your face, this is for the body only.
In a nutshell
I really enjoyed these two shower products. Although the brand seemed promising at first, I wasn’t expecting such a nice quality. I was blown away by the products’ composition, in particular by the scrub’s that contains only natural ingredients. And I can’t say it enough : the fragrances are amazing !
Bodhi cosmetics – as well as many other brands – are available on the beauty e-shop The Beauty Shopper. Great reductions are currently offered… If you want to buy these products, now is a good time !
