As some of you may know, I really enjoy making my own beauty products with things I can find in my kitchen, and I already shared with you my home made body scrub. Today, we are going to take care of our face, with two different scrubs. The first one is perfect for the dry and sensitive skins and is made with honey, coconut oil and oatmeal. The second one, for oily skins with imperfections, contains lemon juice, sugar and lavander. I let you discover these two easy and efficient recipes…
THE OATMEAL SCRUB
– for sensitive and dry skins –
Oatmeal / Coconut oil / Honey
Start by grounding the oatmeal (about 100g) and mix it with a quarter of coconut oil (liquid) and a quarter of honey. I never measure the ingredients when I make these recipes since you can’t really go wrong with them. If you want an abrasive scrub (like I do), just add more oatmeal. If you have a really dry skin, add more coconut oil.
Finally, pour the scrub in a clean container. You can keep this face scrub for several weeks.
THE SUGAR SCRUB
– for oily skins –
Powdered sugar / Lemon juice / Lavander leaves or flowers
Mix 3/4 of powdered sugar and 1/4 of lemon juice. Add more sugar if your mixture is too liquid.
Chop your lavander leaves and flowers and add them to the scrub. I only used fresh leaves because we’re in January, and of course, my lavender hasn’t flowered yet. You may wonder why I chose to add this plant to the face scrub… For the smell in the first place, it is really pleasant to use a product that smells this good. But the lavander also has revitalizing and healing properties, which are great to reduce scars and imperfections.
You can keep this face scrub during one to two weeks in the fridge.
