FACIAL SPONGES TO CLEAN YOUR FACE
Recently, I’ve discovered a new passion : facial sponges to clean your face ! I must admit, I’m addicted… to the point that my boyfriend is starting to offer me some. Believe me, I prefer that over flowers…
The word “sponge” is a bit reductive since I alsow own a facial brush and a special towel… I’m showing you all the accessories I am using to clean my skin.
Everything comes – without surprise – from The Body Shop. You’re going to believe that they pay me to mention their products all the time… Which is not the case, I’ve grown really fond of this brand, one of the only beauty stores I can easily find in Gozo ! But I promise, I will talk about some other brands soon.
— The facial brush —
I’ve been using this brush since last summer and I already mentioned it here. You can use it on a clean skin, with water and a facial cleanser. Thanks to the bristles, you can deeply clean the pores and exfoliate the skin. I use it at night, usually two to three times a week.
I love this little sponge that is perfect for a great scrub. Be gentle if you have a sensitive skin, it might be too aggressive. But for me, this is perfect. I use it every morning with a cleansing gel, which foams a lot thanks to the sponge. Its suppleness makes it really practical to use, around the nose for example.
— The soft sponge —
I don’t know if this sponge was really made to take the makeup off, but I use it for this purpose. The texture is really nice and soft, it’s a pleasure to use it and you can easily wash out the makeup afterwards. The only drawback is that it doesn’t foam really well and a lot of cleansing gel is needed… However, I use it every night.
This flannel is really special : I couldn’t describe the texture, this is obviously a really supple plastic material. When it’s wet, it is really soft, but once it’s dry, it becomes as rigid as cardboard ! I don’t use it as often as I used to, but it’s really convenient if you use oil to take your makeup off. I advise you to warm the oil between your hands (coconut oil is the best) and to massage your face with it, even the eyes, to take the makeup off. This is when you become a clownish panda ! Then, run the flannel under really warm water, squeeze it and put it on your face for a moment : the heat will open the pores for a more efficient cleaning. Then, wipe the oil and the makeup with it, until there’s nothing left. I find this method really relaxing and convenient, but I prefer using water most of the time. Regarding the flannel, it’s really nice to use, but unfortunately, the smears of makeup are difficult to take off. Indeed, you can see on the pictures that mine si not immaculate…
Do you use these accessories ? Which ones are your favourite ?
