Today, I’m sharing two recipes to help you create your own homemade body scrubs, in less than 5 minutes ! I can’t never get enough of these potions in jars, which allow me to always have skincare products at home, at the lowest cost.
As a bonus, I’m offering a little gift at the end of this post : two labels that you can download and print to decorate your jars ! A nice detail if you want to offer these homemade scrubs to someone, or to simply have a pretty jar to put in your bathroom…
The ingredients
Nourishing scrub with strawberry
Thanks to the combined effects of the honey and the coconut oil, this homemade scrub is perfect for dry skins. If yours is also sensitive, you can replace the salt with powdered sugar, less abrasive.
In your jar, pour a quarter of sea salt, a quarter of coconut oil and two quarters of honey. Add a few drops of strawberry extract and mix well.
The mixture will be more or less fluid according to the temperature of the room : under 24°C, the coconut oil becomes solid.
You can keep this homemade scrub for several weeks because these ingredients aren’t perishable. However, use a hermetic jar to keep the humidity away.
Refreshing scrub with mint
This body scrub is especially nice to use during summer, for a cool feeling. It’s also perfect to treat and prevent ingrown hairs !
In your jar, pour three quarters of powdered sugar, the juice of 3 lemons (you can also add the pulp), 4 tbsp of olive oil, a large pinch of dried mint and a few drops of peppermint extract. Mix well.
You can keep this scrub for approximately two weeks in your fridge, less at room temperature (because of the lemon). I strongly advise you to keep this cool, the refreshing effect will therefore be stronger !
The labels !
You can freely download and print these two labels in order to decorate your jars. Their diameter is 8cm.
If you redistribute these, please add a link towards this post !
The pretty flowers come from Angie Makes.
