HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY SCRUB AND MASK
It’s been a long time since I shared homemade skincare recipes ! Today I don’t have one, but two recipes for you : a face scrub and a mask, the winning combo for a pretty skin. This time, we will use a seasonal fruit, the strawberry, which is as delicious for our taste buds as it is for our skin.
These two recipes are perfect for dull skins that are a bit unhappy after winter. The strawberry contains a lot of salicylic acid, which is ideal for removing dead cells that tarnish the complexion. This fruit is also rich in antioxidants, perfect to give a little boost to cell renewal.
For the strawberry face scrub
Mix 4 tablespoons of olive oil with 5 tablespoons of powdered sugar. In a second container, mash a handful of ripe strawberries. Add them to the sugar/olive oil mixture and finish by pouring the juice of half a lemon. Apply to your skin with light circular motions and rinse. Then, follow with the mask.
→ The sugar gives a granulated texture to the scrub, the strawberries eliminate dead cells thanks to the salicylic acid they contain, and the olive oil nourrishes and protects the skin. Finally, the lemon juice brings a purifying effect.
For the strawberry face mask
Beat the egg to mix the yolk and the white together. In a separate container, mash a handful of strawberries and add them to the egg. Finish by adding the juice of half a lemon. Leave on the skin for 15 to 20 minutes. The mixture being quite liquid, I recommend placing a piece of gauze over the mask.
→ The egg nourishes and revives the skin’s radiance while the strawberries eliminate dead cells and help in cell renewal. The lemon juice provides a purifying effect.
Warning : as a precaution, I recommend that you rub a piece of strawberry in the hollow of your elbow 24 hours before using this mask, to be sure that your skin does not present any allergic reaction to this fruit.
So, have you tried these homemade strawberry skincare ? What did you think of the result ?
