I’d be lying to your face if I told you that I’ve always been a travel enthusiast : those who’ve known me long enough know that this isn’t true. There’s been a time when traveling was not a priority for me, probably because I like my little comfort and my daily routine a bit too much.
But for some years now, I’ve been feeling the terrible urge to discover new horizons. Moving abroad has undoubtedly reinforced this feeling. I am hungry for new landscapes, new cultures, new languages, new local cuisines… And I often find myself dreaming about this future destinations.
The first on my list is Russia. This is my boyfriend’s native land and I already feel a particular fondness for this country that I haven’t even visited yet. These last few months, I’ve been dying to discover Moscow and I’m spending way too much time looking at pictures on the internet. This city makes me dream, and the fact that Gleb is full of praise for the russian capital makes me want to visit it even more.
I think that South America should be second on my list. Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina are five countries I’m very interested about. I’d like to try the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, walk on the steps of the maya and inca civilizations, visit the impressive pyramids and experience the local culture. And above all, I’d like to watch the whales off the coasts of Mexico and Colombia. Seeing these animals in their natural environment is something I’ve always dreamt about.

Third on my list, the Maldives. Here, you can talk about comfort ! Islands covered with white sand, turquoise waters full of tropical fish, manta rays and whale sharks… And I’m sure that beside the idea of “farniente” inspired by this destination, there are many things to see and to discover too.
There are so many other places that I want to visit one day, so many things I would like to do… Shivering in the “hanted” castles of Scotland, dogsledding in Siberia, watching the wild animals in Kenya…
Meanwhile, I’m slowly starting to prepare my next trip, to a less exotic destination : London ! My best friend just moved there for a year and I can’t wait to go and discover this beautiful capital I know little about with her.
Do you love traveling, or is it something you’re not attracted to ?
Are there any countries you’re dying to visit one day ?
